Containment Technology

Step 4 – Equipment types available as Control Strategies

Containment / Control Strategy 1 Controlled general ventilation
Containment / Control Strategy 2 Local exhaust ventilation (LEV) and airflow booths
  Containment / Control Strategy 3
Hybrid type down flow booths, which include a barrier to separate the operator from the process or Barrier isolation systems whereby open powder transfer within the isolator chamber itself is permitted.
  Containment / Control Strategy 4
Barrier isolation systems whereby open powder transfer within the isolator chamber itself is permitted.
  Containment / Control Strategy 5
This has changed over the last 12-months from robotic installations to Isolation with Closed manipulations (utilizing bag technology as primary containment inside Isolation technology, as secondary containment).

The differences between Containment Strategies 3 and 4 have been brought about by the realisation that the weakest links in any barrier isolation system are the inlet and outlet transfer doors/valves/ports. These could be ports, split butterfly valves or similar.

Below are some examples of High Containment Isolator systems being used for many applications, with highly potent products, but yet still offering the operator and product itself the highest degree of safety protection.

Bectochem has teamed up with European Isolator manufacturing specialist Applied Containment Engineering Ltd (ACE), to bring the very best containment solutions to the ever growing Indian pharmaceutical Market. It has often been said that the Indian Pharmaceutical market is the fastest growing market in the world today, and this collaboration between two highly respected companies, can offer European technology but yet still deliver at Indian prices.

A SURE FIRED SUCCESS
